The space over his bed was just a big blank wall that needed something. Last Fall I saw this awesome tutorial for a Star Wars canvas project from Kimbo at a Girl and a Glue Gun and tucked it away for later.
I also saw this Star Wars art from Pottery Barn Kids. Uuuuh with a $299 price tag, no thanks! Okay there's lights up-but still!
So yesterday with a little spray paint, a little google image searching and some Mod Podge the two came together as one. I just love the results! All for $0 as I had the canvas and supplies on hand.
Here it is hung above the bed.
I admit I thought the canvas would look a little more substantial on the wall...I'm thinking of adding a shelf and two smaller pieces of art. More to come on the room makeover soon!
Thanks for visiting!

ReplyDeleteAwesome job Sarah!! I would never have guessed that you made it piece by piece!!
ReplyDeletedo i have to say it? i think you know how i feel about this project.
ReplyDeleteHi, Sarah! It looks perfect just where you hung it. So funny the differences between boys and girls and their decor. ;)
ReplyDeleteIf you could please add a link back to my party too, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
That came out great! You'd think it was store bought.Maybe underneath you could put a shelf on which you could place some action figures. Or do 2 smaller canvases underneath with his favorite characters. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 little boys who love star wars as well. I found your blog from "Serenity Now" - I made a Lego Bingo game with mini figures that your son might like - there are a few star wars characters on it
