Lately I've been slightly
obsessed with painting my boring, closet of a powder room black. But I'm hesitating. I mean, it's BLACK! And the room has no windows to let in the light. So of course, I headed over to Pinterest to find some inspiration...
Sexy and glamourous no? Have you ever painted a room in your house black? Or do you want to? I would love to hear your opinions!
Thanks for visiting!
I am LOVING this! I have thought about it, but haven't taken the plunge. I totally might...

It's a wonderful, beautiful, interesting idea. I too would be afraid of the "darkness" but...it's only paint. If you don't like the outcome, just repaint. Right? Go for it. I like the first and third pictures best. :)
ReplyDeletethis is so funny because i want to paint my masterbathroom black and was afraid people would think i'm NUTS! i probably won't, but i DO love the look of it. we DID paint the bottom half of my son's room black. and it looks great!!! i was nervous watching the paint go on the walls, but i have to say i don't regret it at all.
ReplyDeleteMy son painted his room including the ceiling black when he was in high school. He also had black blinds! You needed a flashlight just to walk into his room. It was a b---- to paint over after he moved out! I wallpapered the small bathroom in the 'old' master bedroom years ago. The pattern was roses on a black background. Hard to describe but I still love it!
ReplyDeleteI like that the walls have a little visual interest. The stencil with matte/glossy black or the top on that looks like a textured black. I think that will add the visual interest you need to keep it from looking like a cave. I can't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteI would love to but I haven't yet. Those are all so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow about just bringing in black accents? I changed out my shower curtain to a black/white damask print & am in the process of changing everything else. Keep in mind, I can not change the tile (I rent) & it's mint green & black. So black works for me.
ReplyDeleteI am fascinated by black and light grey walls and I'd try it in my house but I just finished painting the whole thing just a few years ago - too tired to try it again anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteIf you're concerned about it being too dark in a small space, what about one black accent wall?
I painted my bathroom black and LOVE it. Of course I do have a window and beadboard but I say go for it. It's only paint :) Or just do the wall behind the toilet for now.
